The Foundation Sicurezza e libertà (FS&F Security and Freedom) is a private non-profit institution founded in October 2015 by the most important Sate Policemen trade Union SIULP – Sindacato Italiano Unitario lavoratori di Polizia (Trade Union of Policemen). The President Dr. Felice Romano is in the same time General Secretary of SIULP and President of FS&F.
It is the FS&F ‘s aim to pursue exclusively the aims of social solidarity and the promotion of culture through the implementation of study, research and training initiatives in the areas of law, history, ethical values, economics and finance, but also about social security. The FS&F is based on principles of democracy, solidarity and social aggregation, and is non-partisan, rejecting any form of ideological and political conditioning.
The FS&F, for the achievement of its purposes, aims to:
- To create a consortium of all subjects involved in social security into a single representative body;
- to divulge the culture and formation to legality on the civil model established by the Italian Law 121/81 with which the Italian security system was reformed based on the coordination of the various “Police Forces” under the direction of the Authority of Public Security civil, central and local, through educational activities, information and training, in pursuing the objective of improving the level of social security, improving the quality of life of citizens and therefore the livability of the territories;
- to promote, to develop and to qualify the training acitivity, in all possible ways, on a cultural, ethical and professional level;
- act as a point of reference for public and private bodies, companies and citizens, through the establishment of training courses, promotion of conferences, seminars or by doing any kind of information action on security issues.
The Foundation will also be able to guarantee its collaboration with other public and private bodies, both Italian and foreign, for the realization of initiatives that fall within their own institutional aims.
The Foundation Sicurezza e libertà (FS&F Security and Freedom) has done much of the research that has led to a questioning of the traditional model of professional law enforcement and toward a new view of policing–one emphasizing a community orientation–that is widely embraced today.
The Foundation Sicurezza e libertà (FS&F Security and Freedom) is constantly engaged in a variety of research projects. During the last 2 years the Foundation Sicurezza e libertà (FS&F Security and Freedom) organised several National and International Conferences in partnership with the University of Genova and the University of Cassino Southern Lazio, and also with the Link Campus University (Italy), with the University of Language and the Baku Eurasian University (Azerbaijan), with the International Institute of Mangement (Moldova). With the last one Foundation Sicurezza e libertà (FS&F Security and Freedom) started a research activity supported by both Ministry of Interior about the phenomenon of immigration. The Foundation Sicurezza e libertà (FS&F Security and Freedom) in agrrement with Moldovan Police is carrying out a project about Security inside MIDAS project, a project financing by Nato.
The management for the international activities
The President Dr. Felice Romano is in the same time General Secretary of SIULP and President of FS&F.
The delegate for the International relations and International activities is prof. Dr. Alessandro Figus. He had experience in Tempus and now he is involved in Erasmus project.
